Chinese Nasi Lemak

A few weeks ago, Tigerfish talked about the traditional Nasi Lemak prepared by Malays. Yesterday, my chef and i went to Sheng Shiong Supermarket at Woodlands Centre Road. Remembering that there is a nice Chinese Nasi Lemak stall at the nearby hawker centre which i used to patronise a few years ago, i went back to the stall again. The business at that stall is really good and there was a long queue (there were around 10 people) in front of me!

The stall has an interesting name 天天来椰浆饭 (Tien Tien Lai Nasi Lemak) in which "天天来", when literally translated into English means "Come Everyday". That's why the business is so good since people come everyday to buy their Nasi Lemak. ;p

Looking at the menu, there are a wide selection of 12 different Nasi Lemak sets with price ranging from SGD 2.20 to SGD 2.90. All of them come with different combinations of ingredients such as ikan kunings, chicken wings, sunny side up eggs, ikan bilis, otak otaks, hot dogs, luncheon meat, stir fried long beans with sambal and etc.

I ordered Set 7 which consists of these ingredients: nasi brani, fried chicken wing, sunny side up egg, baked beans with potato & luncheon meat cubes, ikan bilis & peanuts, cucumber and sambal chili.

Wah, Christmas countdown already! Your set in Nasi Briyani ma, not nasi lemak. Is it just follow the "nasi lemak" style but the rice is not lemak?

When we visit family in Sg, we never ventured further than the southern part of the island !

So, is there r MRT station nearby the hawker stalls ?

Dora said...

The nearest MRT station is Woodlands but u need to take a bus from the Woodlands bus interchange to the hawker centre.
